West Fife Forest Education Intiative brings together woodland owners, businesses, forestry workers, schools, rangers and a whole host of folk to help local folk learn more about their local woodlands. There are Forest Education Clusters all around the country - find out more from the Forest Education Website.

Forest School Leader Training
Our first project is to train up Forest School Leaders - these folk will then be able to set up Forest Schools and work with the local Schools to get kids outdoors and learning in their local woodlands. Forest Schools are great places for young people to learn, it taps into childrens naturally inquistive nature, unleashes their energy and helps them learn new skills, team working and greatly increases their confidence. The first 6 Forest Leaders are about to start their training in June, they are already working with children in a variety of differnt enevironments from Counrtyside Rangers to Playgroup leaders and will form a great resource for schools and other groups to tap into.

Forest Schools - What's stopping you
Do you work in a school and would love to get the kids out into the woodlands but face barrier after barrier to making it happen. If so we want hear from you. We want to help you chip away at the barriers, whether its finding qualified leaders or a local woodland to use, let us know your issues and we will see what we can do to help.
